About the Artist

In 1999 I began studies in classical sacred art and began taking sacred scripture for subject matter.  It was and is a journey to find a place in the rich Roman Catholic aesthetic tradition.  After 20 or more years of working in this area, I have come to settle in the Early Renaissance style of painting because this period balances  the mystical and the natural.

As my artistic and faith journey progresses, I explore the expression of spiritual love in both scripture and in universal subject matter.  I hope you will enjoy journeying with me through these works.

The Coronation of the Virgin–Details

“Art making is a journey of growing in technical skill and  maturity of expression.  Making Catholic sacred art also facilitates maturity of spirit and soul because it is Christocentric.  I am drawn to make sacred art because it helps me grow in my own spiritual life and it contributes to the building up of the local Catholic Church.  It is visual theology which hopefully teaches, inspires and feeds the soul and is a form of cultural evangelization.”    Patricia Ballard
